This was my first 3 day makeup course that I had ran in Falmouth. I wanted to give my students an idea on how to be a makeup artist especially in Cornwall. They had a booklet which they took home with lots of information about wedding and photographic makeup, but the course was mainly practical so they could get as much practice as possible and see me demonstrate different looks and techniques.

Day one

Theory on health & safety, makeup brushes and their uses, how to prep the skin and types of makeup.

Then I did a demo on a natural makeup showing someone who doesn’t usually wear makeup how much to wear on their wedding day and still look good on camera but feel like themselves.

After Lunch the students had a go themselves and took photos of their work.

Day Two

Theory on correcting eye shapes and face shapes, the different aras on the eyes and what to do in a trial.

Then I did a demonstration on a stronger makeup if you have a client who wears makeup everyday and likes to have makeup on her wedding day.

After Lunch the students had a go themselves and took photos of their work.

Day Three

Theory on contouring the face with different foundations, lighting and how it affects the makeup, what to have in their makeup kits and how to build a portfolio.

Then I did a demo on contouring and a photographic makeup.

After Lunch the students designed a look based on a theme and then practiced the look on each other and took photos of their work.

All were very good and I saw a vast improvement as the course went along. Now its time for them to practise what they learnt.
