Now I have tried MAC studio fix plus but don’t think highly of it what so ever. I also have one from Urban Decay but the spray nozzle is broken due to transport from America.

Skindinavia is a company that just makes setting sprays for your make up. This mist extends the makeup wear for up to 16 hours. This is perfect for anyone who is too busy to do touch ups. I have been using the Bridal spray but in my honest opinion I’m thinking the original spray is the same as the Bridal. The Bridal spray caught my eye as of course I am a bride to be and it has pink. I know but I’m a sucker for packaging.

My Experience:

I believe this works as it does set my makeup and last for hours. Without this I would need to touch up but for me I tend to forget to. But with this spray I don’t need to think about any touch ups what so ever. The mist has a nice rose smell so when apply it to my face it smells and feels refreshing. In the past month I have shed a few tears and after checking my makeup I can notice where my tears have been the makeup has been washed away from my tears and everywhere else my skin is still flawless. It may sound odd but I have never noticed this before using the setting spray.

Shake well and apply just before mascara. Spray 2-4 times in an “X” and “T” formation. Hypoallergenic. Paraben free.

I recently mentioned that I had been to a close family wedding, and weddings automatically give me a reason to try new makeup looks and experiment with colour. I absolutely love colour, and pairing it with Asian clothes and jewellery. Without question my favourite makeup looks are 80% Asian bridal makeup. I love the extravagance and the pairing of jewellery and makeup.. makes me want to get married right about now! I promised you all I would show you how I did my makeup so here it is.

The wedding consists of two or three days usually in Bengali culture, the mehndi, the wedding and the walima. At times the wedding and walima are combined, meaning two days instead of three. The wedding is hosted by the bride’s family, and the walima by the groom’s side. I thought it would be nice to show what I wore both to the wedding and the walima and how I did my makeup for both days.
For the wedding I wore a yellow suit with flashes of green and purple. To compliment the green in the dress I chose to wear heavy detailed green jewellery, and added a hint of purple with purple heels. I really like the dress style of the suit, I love how it felt super floaty and princess like.
Now on to the fun bit, the makeup. On the eyes I decided to add bright colour, so had yellow all across the lid. I then went into the crease with MAC Brown Down, and created a slight smokey look with the brown by blending it out. I then went in with a green just under the brown to make the eye look compliment my outfit. I used MAC Blacktrack gel eyeliner to line the eyes, and used Eylure Girls Aloud Nadine false lashes. I used MAC Brulee under my brows and to blend out the eye look also. On the lips I used a combination of MAC Girl About Town and MAC Impassioned. I wanted bright pink lips and those two gave the perfect results for what I had in mind. On my cheeks I had a soft pink blush, and a tiny bit of NARS Casino to contour with.
For the Walima I opted for one of my all time favourite saris. I’ve only worn it twice before, years and years ago and decided to bring it out as I missed it so much. I love the blue hue the sari has, I think it looks gorgeous in person and luckily seems to compliment my skin tone. I wanted to keep jewellery a little more simple, and went for a silver jewellery set. It might not look simple compared to normal high street jewellery, but in comparison to Asian jewellery it is quite simple.
For the makeup I decided I really wanted glowy, contoured and defined cheekbones. They were definitely my priority and I was really happy with how the look turned out in the end. On my eyes I used Estee Lauder Cyber Silver all over the lid to give a silver grey base. I then used Urban Decay Radium in the crease to create inject colour and used the dark blue on topfrom the Sleek Storm palette to create a smokey eye look. I blended it all out with MAC Brulee, used MAC Blacktrack eyeliner and the same pair of false lashes as the wedding. On my cheeks, I used Sleek Contour Kit in Light to sculpt and contour and used the highlighter to give that glowy look. I’m not usually a fan of their highlighter but I think I’ve changed my mind now! I used a slight touch of NARS Orgasm over my cheeks to add a slight bit of colour. On the lips I used MAC Girl About Town again but toned it down with gloss.

Make-Up Designory- is a makeup school and cosmetics line in NYC and LA. They offer monthly workshops (most of which are free). You can RSVP on facebook.

Kett Cosmetics-They offer mostly airbrush and bridal classes. The best part is that they are a traveling school, so they’ve got classes ready for Atlanta, LA, Honolulu, NYC and London. Kett is known for their beauty and special effects makeup. More info on Kett classes here.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics-These are usually airbrush workshops based in NYC. Each class contains less an 20 people. Plus, you’ll have access to the fabulous Lip Tars that are sweeping the nation. Why, oh why are they minty?!? Yuck. More info on OCC makeup classes here.

Elevate Artists- These are a mix of workshops in the DC area. KJ Bennett is a regular there. You’ll also be happy to know that there are hair styling workshops for makeup artists. Future workshops will include Daven Mayeda and Lottie. Walk, don’t run. More info on Elevate Artists classes here.

Rouge Makeup Artists-They offer intensive workshops including basic makeup artistry to bridal. This May, they had an all day intensive bridal class for $200. This is not common, so people really got a great opportunity with that one! This class not only covered beauty, but contracts, dealing with payments and the business of bridal. Love is in the air! We’ve been thinking about weddings recently and, in particular, weddings abroad. After all, there’s no better way to say ‘I do’ than on a sunny, sandy beach, and it’s the ideal excuse to take a cheap holiday to Spain, Turkey, Croatia or wherever else you fancy.

Whether you’re planning on jetting off to sunnier climes to tie the knot or are getting married in this country, one of the most important things a bride usually wants to make sure she gets right is her makeup for the big day. We found a great little post at Shecky’s on the biggest bridal makeup trends for 2013 which you can use for inspiration whether you’re having your wedding overseas, or just want to feel like you are!

Berry Nice

The number one makeup look for brides this year according to Shecky’s is berry lips and nude faces. This look is ideal for creating a beautiful but clean and polished look. Keeping your facial makeup simple but fresh will make your berry red lips all the more dramatic and impactful.

Focusing on the eyes is the second big look for brides this year, so pump up your lashes with individually inserted false lashes and define the eyes with a cat-eye liner blended into a smoky coloured eye-shadow.

Last but not least, the third big look for brides in 2013 is glitter! After all, if you can’t look like a fairy-tale princess on your wedding day then when can you? Following on from my 'The Wedding' post I thought I would share with you all the products I used to do my Bridesmaid makeup. We all did our own makeup on the day, -which I know is pretty unusual - but between us we were a super-beauty-obsessed bunch and knew that we probably trusted ourselves enough (and had enough makeup stash and skill between us) to ensure we looked wedding-ready....

I started by prepping my face by using the La Roche-Posay Effeclar-Mat Moisturiser all over my my face, followed by Benefit the Porefessional primer on my nose and cheeks. I then dabbed a small amount of Makeup Atelier's Base Eclat Skin Perfector across my temples, cheekbones and eye area.

I opted for a light, well-buffed in application of Diorskin Nude BB Cream in 002 applied with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush followed by MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC25 on the areas that needed more coverage (my chin and nose and I added a tiny bit to my temples and cheekbones). I then applied MAC Studio Finish concealer in NC25 under my eyes, followed by Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in true ivory which I then blended using the Real Techniques Setting Brush and set it with Laura Mercier's secret brightening powder. For a finishing powder I used Chanel's Les Beiges Healthy Glow Powder in N20.

I kept my eyes relatively simple and used the Urban Decay Naked Palette, sweeping 'Virgin' over my entire eye area (right into the inner corners and up to the brow bone), 'sin' across the entire lid and a mixture of 'sidecar' and 'smog' blended into the crease, along the lower lash line and underneath my lower lashes. I then applied my trusty waterproof mascara from YSL, Illamasqua's eye pencil in 'elate' along my waterline and two pairs of false lashes: Ardell Lashes in #105 followed by Eylure 116 lashes which I cut in half and applied only to the outer corner of my eyes and another lashing of my YSL mascara to cover any whiteness from the Illamasqua pencil and to ensure the falsies were properly blended with my own lashes.

I applied my Bobbi Brown Bronzer in medium lightly all over my face and neck with the Real Technique Stippling Brush, then applied (lots of!) Nars Laguna Bronzer to my temples and cheekbones.

Cheeks and Lips were kept pinker-than-pink to match the colour scheme so for the cheeks I opted for MAC's 'Well Dressed' swirled onto my apples using the Real Techniques Blush Brush and 'Dainty' swept lightly over my cheekbones and temples using the Real Techniques Setting Brush and for the lips I paired my MAC Lip Liner Pencil in 'In Synch' with NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in 'Roman Holiday' , set it with a slick of Lipcote and topped it off with a dash of Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss - aptly named 'Love' - how fitting!

In my teeny tiny Bridesmaid clutch bag I could only fit in the absolute essentials which were (apart from my trusty iPhone!) the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in 'Roman Holiday', Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss in 'Love', MAC Prep and Prime Transparent Finishing Powder and some Eylure eye lash glue in case I cried off my falsies.
